The Collège de France and the University of Bonn Extend their Partnership

Convention Bonn

On 25 September 2017, Prof. Alain Prochiantz, Administrateur of the Collège de France, and his counterpart Prof. Michael Hoch, Rector of the University of Bonn, signed an agreement renewing the cooperation partnership between the two organizations.

The collaboration between the Collège de France and the University of Bonn dates back to 2008 when a Chair 'Ernst Robert Curtius' was created in Bonn. The Chair is held each year by different professors from the Collège de France. The contacts it enables have also made possible the invitation of German professors to Paris.

With this new agreement, the two institutions call for an increase of young researchers exchange programs and the joint organization of international symposia and workshops.

For the academic year 2017/2018, Prof. Thomas Römer (Chair:  The Hebrew Bible and its Contexts) and Prof. Jean-Pierre Brun (Chair: Techniques and Economies in the Ancient Mediterranean) will deliver part of their statutory teaching at the University of Bonn.
