One of the Collège de France's missions is to promote French research and ideas abroad, and to participate in debates on major world issues. Therefore, the institution is open to international exchange through its teaching and dissemination of knowledge, as well as the research programs of its Chairs and laboratories. The fact that one fifth of the professors are currently of foreign origin, confirms the Collège the France widening research and education policy.
