Polls and their methods may vary, but one constant remains. When the French are asked about their main preoccupations, health is always high on the list, if not at the top. At a time when budgetary constraints are weighing increasingly heavily on our collective political choices, the future of our healthcare system, and of public hospitals in particular, raises questions. What, then, will the hospital of the future look like, a service that is still public, capable of meeting the expectations of citizens and adapting to changes in society?

After considering the city of the future, Le Collège de France will attempt to answer this question at a two-day symposium on March 16 and 17, 2026, based on the conviction that a solid healthcare system accessible to all is essential to a Avenir Commun Durable.

The event is organized under the scientific direction of Professor Philippe Sansonetti.
