Elie Piette

Since January 2020, Elie Piette (MA in Classics) is working on a PhD thesis at the University of Liège. His research mainly focuses on the development of local pantheons and the functions of supra-human entities within these structures. The aim of his thesis is to better understand the cultic transfers between mother-cities and their colonies, focusing on two case-studies: Paros and its colony Thasos in the Northern Aegean, Miletos and its settlements in the Propontis and the Black Sea. In addition to his thesis, he contributes to the development of the Collection of Greek Ritual Norms (CGRN) project and takes part in the publication of the annual journal Kernos.
