Abstract
As soon as the tribe of Judah rallied to David and he chose Jerusalem as his stronghold, he had the ark of Yhwh brought from Qiryath-Yearim to symbolize Yhwh's presence in Jerusalem. The transfer of the ark is fraught with difficulties, and curiously marks a break in David's relationship with his wife Mikal.
