Abstract
Solomon's accession to the throne recalls the intrigues of the Assyrian and other kingdoms. At the heart of Solomon's reign was the construction of the temple in Jerusalem. But was it really a construction or rather a renovation of an existing sanctuary ? And why, when he inaugurated the temple, did Solomon already foresee the destruction of the city and the deportation of its inhabitants ?
