Abstract

This talk provides an introduction to the applications ofzero-knowledgeproofs for online anonymity.
After introducing the fundamental notions of cryptographic proofs and arguments, we show how these tools can be used to verify properties or computations without revealing sensitive information.

The second part is devoted to two case studies: anonymousidentities and credentials, enabling privacy-friendly authentication; and anonymous payments, making it possible to hide amounts and links between transactions while maintaining system security.

The presentation focuses on the underlying cryptographic ideas and their practical implications for privacy protection in modern digital systems, building on the tools presented during the rest of the lecture.
