Matteo Bächtold is currently writing a theology thesis on the origins of the quest for the Ark of the Covenant, under the supervision of Thomas Römer and Frédérique Rey (Lorraine University). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Theology from the University of Geneva and a Master's degree in Religious Studies from the University of Lausanne. After working as an assistant at the Institut d'histoire de la Réformation in Geneva, he now works at the Collège de France as part of the Avenir Commun Durable project : " Regards croisés sur l'eau atmosphérique ". He is particularly interested in the long-term impact of biblical redactional practices, and the political use of biblical motifs.
