Olivier de Schutter has been invited by the assembly of the Collège de France, at the suggestion of Pr Samantha Besson, Chair of International Law of Institutions.

This series of four lectures by Olivier de Schutter is part of the Collège de France's Europe cycle. In 2026-2027, this cycle is devoted to the theme L'Europe paysanne ".

This lecture series will examine the emergence of the notion of food sovereignty in international law, up to its consecration by the adoption, in 2018, of the Declaration on the Rights of Peasants and Other People Working in Rural Areas. It will then assess the impact of the food sovereignty discourse on recent attempts to refound the European Union's Common Agricultural Policy in connection with the Green Pact for Europe, through the adoption, as a component of this Green Pact, of a food strategy " from farm to table ".
