Introduction
This year’s course by Thomas Lecuit will focus on bioenergetics. A cell in equilibrium is dead. A living system is open, traversed by energy flows that maintain its organization, growth, dynamics, and information processing. The course presents these aspects of cellular energetics and describes the sources, transformations, energy budget, and constraints that keep cells alive, from bacteria to neurons.
This course will be taught in conjunction with Jean-François Joanny ’s course.
