Abstract
This seminar will present a brand-new version of the Nice model, where the planets' resonant chain is constructed from simulations of planetary migration in a low-viscosity protoplanetary disk. In this scenario, Jupiter and Saturn are captured in 2:1 resonance, with higher eccentricities than those associated with their 3:2 resonance. The seminar will examine the advantages and disadvantages of a Nice model based on such initial conditions.
