Abstract

Vinciane Pirenne-Delforge's book " consciously leaves out the uses of the term in the works of Greek philosophers, be they poets or presocratics ". Taking up her invitation to bring philosophy into the dance, this paper would like to discuss this " parti-pris de méthode " by examining a few examples borrowed from the Presocratics, Plato and Aristotle - and, in so doing, plead once again for the full and complete integration of ancient philosophy into the history of Greek religion, i.e. into the historical anthropology of Greece.
