Crowdfunded Patronage

" In 2030, the Collège de France will celebrate its 500th anniversary.

That’s five centuries of scientific research and the transmission of knowledge, freely accessible to everyone.

Beyond the major breakthroughs achieved in our laboratories and libraries—and the exceptional individuals who made them possible— this extraordinary history is also reflected in the architectural and cultural heritage we are entrusted to preserve.

Today, the Collège de France, its Foundation, and the Fondation du Patrimoine are launching a major crowdfunding campaign to help restore the statue of Guillaume Budé, a librarian and humanist who founded our institution, as well as eight busts of distinguished professors and engraved plaques bearing the names of professors who taught at the Collège de France from 1530 through the early 19th century.

These reminders of the past are located in the Cour Letarouilly, a space freely accessible to our public and visible from Rue Saint-Jacques.

You can help preserve them.

Every donation, regardless of the amount, will help safeguard this movable heritage, which embodies the founding moments of our institution and keeps its memory alive.

Thank you for your support, which will help pass on the Collège de France’s cultural heritage to future generations.”
