Professor Hill is also the author of major books on poetry, and has taught at Cambridge and Boston universities. His books of poems translated into French include : Scènes avec arlequins et autres poèmes (La Différence, 1998), Le Triomphe de l'amour (Cheyne, 2006) ; translations by René Gallet, prefaces by Michael Edwards.
