UMR 8241 “République des savoirs: Lettres, Sciences, Philosophie” was established in 2014. The unit’s research focuses on philosophy, literature, history, and the sciences.
The unit is distinguished by its unique character within the national and international research landscape, bringing together a wide variety of knowledge in a manner that is both reflective and active, historical and contemporary.
While affiliated with the ENS Department of Philosophy, the UMR has strengthened its ties with the Department of Literature and Languages and the Department of History and Theory of the Arts. It is primarily affiliated with the ENS and the CNRS, and secondarily with the Collège de France.
