Abstract

The process of globalization opens up unprecedented opportunities, but it also poses threats to humanity and the entire ecosystem, thereby triggering a resurgence of sovereignist tendencies in an increasingly “disoriented” world. What, then, is the role of legal humanism within global governance? Mireille Delmas-Marty contrasts the narrative of collapse with that of “globality”—a community of shared destiny, united and supportive in its diversity. At the intersection of national laws and international law, she revisits three approaches she had explored nearly a decade earlier: resisting dehumanization , holding global actors accountable , and anticipating future risks .
