Solemnly delivered in the presence of his colleagues and a large audience, it is an opportunity for him to present, in a clear and concise form, the major themes, latest advances and prospects of his research.
The closing lecture is the last lecture given by certain professors at the Collège de France as part of their professorship. It takes stock of the research carried out and concludes their lectures.
