Sustainable Common Future

Logo Avenir Commun Durable, energy, environment, society

The “Avenir Commun Durable—Energy, Environment, Society” initiative was launched in 2021 out of a desire among professors at the Collège de France to take action in the face of the challenges posed by climate change. Their goal is to combine their expertise, analyses, and knowledge to unravel the challenges of the environmental and energy transition. History, mathematics, economics, physics, law, chemistry… The project, coordinated by Prof. Jean-Marie Tarascon, seeks to break down the barriers between fields of expertise in order to fully grasp the challenges that lie ahead in all their complexity.

The initiative is supported by the Collège de France Foundation and its major sponsor, the Covéa Foundation, which also helped establish the Avenir Commun Durable Chair.
