Le futur en héritage: second edition
As part of its commitment to a common sustainable future, the Collège de France is organizing a series of round-table discussions bringing together leading figures from the worlds of academia, business, associations and institutions, and students from higher education.
Conceived as a structured forum for dialogue, this cycle aims to enable the younger generation to question, understand and debate the major issues surrounding climate change. It is part of a process of transmitting knowledge, but also of active listening and co-construction. The Collège de France plays the role of guarantor and facilitator, ensuring the scientific quality of exchanges.
Each meeting is based on a key principle: to give bachelor's and master's students a high degree of autonomy in preparing and leading the discussions. This approach recognizes their legitimacy in taking up subjects that directly concern their future, and values their ability to take a demanding, critical and committed look at the transitions in progress.
Because climate upheavals call for a collective, intergenerational and enlightened response, Avenir Commun Durable aims to create the conditions for a sincere, rigorous and meaningful dialogue.
The first edition of these meetings took place in 2025.
Under the patronage of Professor Jean-Marie Tarascon.
Avenir Commun Durable is supported by the Collège de France Foundation, its major sponsors Fondation Covéa and TotalEnergies, and its patrons FORVIA and Saint-Gobain.
