Inheriting the future: Second Edition
As part of its commitment to Avenir Commun Durable, the Collège de France is hosting a series of roundtable discussions bringing together leading figures from academia, business, civil society, and government, as well as college students.
Designed as a structured space for dialogue, this series aims to enable younger generations to question, understand, and debate the major challenges related to climate change. It is part of an approach focused on knowledge transfer, but also on active listening and collaborative development. The Collège de France acts as a guarantor and facilitator, ensuring the scientific quality of the discussions.
Each meeting is based on a key principle: offering undergraduate and graduate students a high degree of autonomy in preparing and leading the discussions. This approach recognizes their right to take ownership of issues that directly affect their future and highlights their ability to take a demanding, critical, and engaged look at the transitions currently underway.
Because climate upheavals call for a collective, intergenerational, and informed response, Avenir Commun Durable aims to create the conditions for a sincere, rigorous, and meaningful dialogue.
The first edition of Inheriting the future took place in 2025.
