Brett Finlay is a Professor at Michael Smith Laboratories and the University of British Columbia (UBC), Faculty of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Faculty of Microbiology and Immunology. He studied Salmonella host cell invasion at Stanford University. At UBC, he works on host-pathogen interactions at the molecular level. Combining cell biology and microbiology, he was one of the pioneers of cellular microbiology.
