Abstract
In this lecture, I will discuss work that identified several pathways/genes that are critically involved in distinct developmental steps during neurogenesis (including their pioneering work that identified a critical role for lipid metabolism for neural stem cell behavior). He will also present novel approaches, based on human embryonic stem cell (hESC)-derived brain organoids, to characterize NSC behavior in complex tissues in health and disease.
