Lluis Quintana-Murci 's research focuses on genome diversity between human populations, both from a fundamental point of view and as applied to the understanding of certain pathologies, such as infectious diseases. He is particularly interested in studying the genetic and epigenetic diversity of our species, the demographic history of human populations and the mechanisms of human adaptation to environmental change. This year, he will be presenting his work on human evolution in the face of pathogens.
