Abstract
This second lecture will focus on the development of sensory representations in the cerebral cortex and the emerging roles of different phases of spontaneous and evoked activity in their construction and plasticity. It will focus on recent work on very early activity, and will also revisit the question of critical and sensitive periods, particularly in the context of so-called " cross-modal " sensory plasticity.
