Abstract
Philippe Marcq's theoretical work aims to understand mechanical stresses in tissue. Marcq and his collaborators have developed an approach to deduce local stresses in cell monolayers using a Bayesian interference method. In his seminar, P. Marcq presented the latest developments in this approach and its application to various tissues. He also showed how this approach can be used to study the rheological properties of tissues. Finally, he presented more macroscopic models for epithelial tissue dynamics.
