Solitons are peculiar wave structures that can propagate at constant speed without deforming. They are found in many fields of physics, from hydrodynamics to optics, from Quantum Condensed Matter Physics to atmospheric sciences. Some twenty years ago, matter waves were added to the list of platforms for studying these amazing phenomena. In this year's lecture, we will explore several facets of this research, from the bright solitons obtained in one-dimensional gases of bosons to the magnetic solitons that appear in mixtures of quantum fluids.
