In his seminar, Étienne-Émile Baulieu described the role of hyper-phosphorylation of the protein tau, located inside neurons, and its contribution to the development of Alzheimer's disease. The regulation of tau activity by small-scale effectors was envisaged, opening up a potential new therapeutic avenue.
