Our society has lost the ability to interpret signs. What's at stake is a broadening of our conception of rationality. This is the angle from which we can make a realistic diagnosis of conspiracy theories, which are reviving in a degraded mode our need to interpret signs.

Emmanuelle Danblon

Emmanuelle Danblon is a full professor at the Université libre de Bruxelles. She is a member of the Académie royale de Belgique, Classe des Lettres , and secretary of the Fondation Perelman in Brussels. She is interested in the rationality of discourse and its limits. Her fields of research are rhetoric, argumentation, epistemology and conspiracy theories.
