Abstract
Since the years 1960-1970, three revolutions have taken place in our economic approach towards a sustainable economy. The first concerns our relationship with the living, the second with industry, and the third with social relationships. Symbiotic theory is conceptualized from the observation of their practices. It shows that, taken together, they represent one and the same economy, since they can be described according to the same six principles. Respect for these principles is the basis for the creation of predominantly positive impacts on living organisms and society. They describe a completely new economy, one that regenerates its resources, is rooted in the local environment and evolves in symbiosis with it. Companies and regions inspired by the symbiotic economy, or whose development models are in line with its principles, are showing the way : they are reintegrating the economy into the planetary equilibrium, while responding to the challenges they face in an uncertain world.
