The Chairman of the Collège de France, the Board of Professors and the entire Collège de France community are deeply saddened to learn of the death of François-Xavier Coquin, Honorary Professor at the Collège de France, who held the Chair of Modern and Contemporary History of the Russian World from 1993 to 2001.
They pay tribute to a professor who deeply marked the Collège de France through his courtesy, affability and extreme discretion in shunning the world of communication, and who produced a body of work as a great specialist admired by members of his profession throughout the world, and particularly in Russia.
