Présentation

Amal Lakhal obtained her PhD in chemistry from Sorbonne Université in 2024, under the supervision of Dr. Cyril Ollivier and Prof. Louis Fensterbank. Her doctoral research focused on developing new methods for radical generation and exploring innovative transformations, notably the use of Martin silicates to generate true cyclopropyl radicals and photoredox- and piezo-catalyzed access to complex trifluoromethylated polycyclic structures.

Prior to her PhD, she earned a Master's degree in Molecular Chemistry from Sorbonne Université in 2021, during which she completed several research internships at IPCM focusing on acid catalysis and supramolecular synthesis.

Amal's main research interests lie in radical chemistry, particularly through photoredox and mechanochemical approaches, and the development of innovative synthetic methodologies.

She is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in the laboratory of Professor Fensterbank and Dr. Vincent Corcé, where she is developing the synthesis and application of silane Lewis acids for the degradation of PFAS.
