After discovering the beauty of brain sciences during my bachelor's degree in England, I decided to pursue this field at the Université de Paris Cité in their Neuroscience Master program to specialize in fundamental sciences and research. I conducted a 6-month long research internship in Girardeau Lab at the Institut du Fer à Moulin centered on the role of sleep in emotional memory processing in the ventral hippocampus. There, I could refine what it was to truly study my dream topic, sleep.
Being certain that sleep research is my path, I decided to pursue a PhD in Dr. Nathalie Rouach's team to study the role of astrocytes in slow-wave sleep quality, supervised my Dr. Armelle Rancillac. Here, I plan on deciphering how astrocytes contribute to sleep’s physiological architecture and its ability to counter sleep deprivation through xenografting techniques, super-resolution imaging, polysomnography and electrophysiology.
