Irrationality

The lecture follows on from the 2006-2007 course on "Disinterest". Taken together, they constitute a critique of the homo economicus model in the social sciences. The standard model of rational choice will first be outlined, followed by an examination of behavior that does not conform to the model's prescriptions and predictions.
