Politics, knowledge and truth are supposed to be incompatible. But democracy goes hand in hand with the idea of equal, rational and autonomous citizens. To defend democracy, against the skeptic, the relativist and the cynic, is to situate oneself in a "space of reasons", theoretical and practical, where we can provide justifications and aim, not just for consensus, but for truth.
