Abstract

This presentation looks at the texts, tools and actions that are used and carried out to prevent and manage the introduction of invasive alien species, particularly in terms of regulations, biosecurity, awareness-raising and mobilization.

Arnaud Albert

Arnaud Albert holds a degree in agronomy from the Institut Agro de Rennes and a PhD in biology from the Université de Montréal, specializing in plant ecology and invasion ecology. He is currently in charge of invasive alien species (IAS) research at the Office français de la biodiversité (OFB), within the Direction de la recherche et de l'appui scientifique (DRAS), in the Service sur la conservation et la gestion des espèces à enjeux (SEE). He is the establishment's national expert on exotic plants. In particular, he is one of the co-pilots of the Centre national de ressources sur les espèces exotiques envahissantes (CDR EEE), which is co-piloted by the OFB and the French IUCN Committee. He is also in charge of coordinating the network of national botanical conservatory (CBN) referents on invasive alien plants at national level. He coordinates several research and development projects and studies on IAS, in particular on new techniques for monitoring, managing and treating IAS.
