    In the Commedia, Dante places Averroës in Hell and his Latin disciple Siger de Brabant in Paradise. Dante as Averroist? The symposium will attempt to take stock of one of the most controversial chapters in the historiography of medieval philosophy and theology, by revisiting Dante's philosophical and poetic texts, and interpretative categories ("Latin", "political", "poetic" Averroism), in the light of the most recent research and editions.
