Abstract

Viciously rejected by some (Bourdieu), does genetic criticism have a place among the social sciences that deal with art ? Is there a place for a " science of written invention ", or more precisely for a discipline that strives to reconstitute creative processes from the traces (drafts, rough sketches, plans...) they have left behind ? The aim is to understand the dynamics of invention, its internal logic and the accidents that redirect its lecture. How can such a discipline link up with other approaches, such as sociology or economics ?
