Abstract
Adaptation to climate change is not just about natural processes or human decisions alone: it emerges from the many relationships among people, within ecosystems, and between society and nature. Around the globe, societies respond in different ways, ranging from attempts to control nature to approaches that work with biodiversity and ecosystem processes. Understanding how stronger, more thoughtful connections between people and nature can reinforce both social and ecological resilience opens new perspectives for adapting landscapes to climate change.
