The Chairman of the Collège de France, the Board of Professors and the entire Collège de France community are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jacques Bouveresse, Professor Emeritus and holder of the Philosophy of Language and Knowledge Chair from 1995 to 2010.
They pay tribute to a professor who profoundly marked the Collège de France through his intellectual and philosophical rigor, and through his natural simplicity, which contrasted with the importance and diversity of his work on the works of Wittgenstein, the Vienna Circle and analytic philosophy, as well as on literature and music.
