Entre-Temps, the digital magazine of current chair Patrick Boucheron, invites you to join us on Thursday 11 June 2026 at 19 h at the Théâtre de la Concorde for a performance centered on the figure of historian and Resistance fighter Marc Bloch, soon to be enshrined in the French Pantheon.
In the book he devoted to his definition of historical work, Marc Bloch seized on a question put to him by his young son : " Papa, explain to me : what is the point of history ? "This question gave rise toApologie pour l'histoire, a book he began at the start of the Second World War and published posthumously in 1949. The magazine Entre-Temps seized on the ingenuity of this questioning to imagine a moment of reading and exchange with high school students around Marc Bloch. If the child's or teenager's gaze allows for the exercise of definition, it also makes it possible to look at the great man with a singular eye or ear. This is what students from Lycée Diderot in Paris and Lycée Paul-Éluard in Saint-Denis will be hearing and seeing this evening, as they pay tribute to Bloch in a different way, by exploring his work and his career during the last years of his life, during the Second World War.
This free event, accessible by reservation, will take place on June 11 2026 at the Théâtre de la Concorde in Paris.
