Pierre Chambon passes away

The Chairman of the Collège de France, the Board of Professors and the entire Collège de France community are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Pierre Chambon, holder of the Chair in Molecular Genetics (1993-2002), on May 5 2026. They pay tribute to this scientist, exceptional for his vision, energy and international stature. His work revolutionized the study of gene regulation in living organisms, and made an essential contribution to the French landscape of fundamental and applied biomedical research.
