The Chairman of the Collège de France, the Board of Professors and the entire Collège de France community are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Pierre Toubert, Professor of the History of the Mediterranean West in the Middle Ages (1992-2003), on June 5 2025 at the age of 92 . They pay tribute to this outstanding scholar, a free spirit who set an example by working towards a comprehensive history of the Middle Ages.
