Arthur Dreyfus and Léa Louis, with Jean-Jacques Hublin
I dreamt of Prehistory
To coincide with the exhibition " Prehistory : between utopia and reality ", the Collège de France is co-publishing a children's documentary with Editions courtes et longues.
Prehistory is a young science. Long the prisoner of mythical narratives, it is now undergoing revolutions that are changing the way we think about our ancestors, our evolution... our pre-history. It's also a science that fascinates children, and this book gives them the most up-to-date keys to understanding it.
Did you know that there were dozens of human species before Homo sapiens, that we all come from Africa, that our ancestors didn't live in caves... or that adults didn't always digest milk ?
We are fascinated by humanity's infancy, as we move forward each day on the infinite path of discovery. In the face of all that has disappeared, we know so little and yet so much ! This is perhaps the most exciting aspect of : learning and dreaming at the same time.
With the collaboration of Jean-Jacques Hublin, professor at the Collège de France, Arthur Dreyfus paints a portrait of this Prehistory, at the crossroads of the most recent science and our teeming imagination. Léa Louis takes us along these dreamy paths with her mischievous brushstrokes.
