This symposium will bring together international specialists in Pharaonic statuary, a fundamental source of knowledge on Pharaonic history, art history, society and religion. The aim is to take stock of the current state of knowledge and open up new working prospects, particularly with regard to the publication of such monuments and their integration into digital corpora, thereby multiplying research possibilities, first and foremost the Late Egyptian Artefact Database , supported by the Collège de France and Ifao.

Contributions will focus on topics as diverse as the function of statues, their production, context, stylistic evolution, typology, representations, inscriptions and their place in documentation.

May 16 and 17, 2025, Paris, Collège de France, Amphithéâtres Marguerite de Navarre and Maurice Halbwachs.
