In this talk, I will first present a quick overview of the development of Medical Augmented Reality since early 90s. I will summarize our efforts in the last decade not only in improving depth perception and user interaction within augmented environments, but also in introducing such visualization techniques into real operating rooms. I will then discuss the need for clinically relevant, patient and process specific imaging and visualization and present our latest work on multi-modal robotic imaging and relevance based imaging and visualization.
