Abstract
The human brain contains an immense number of neuronal types. How is this diversity established during development ? The spatial origin of neural stem cells and their temporal evolution during division contribute to this diversity. Using simpler brain systems, we will describe the molecular mechanisms involved in these developmental processes and how they apply to human cortical development.
