Abstract
The image of Osiris omnipresent in Egyptian monuments takes on a human appearance. However, there are many exceptions to this Osirian anthropomorphism. On the one hand, cult pillars such as the Abydenian fetish or thepillar-djed may bear the theonym Osiris. On the other hand, Osiris is occasionally represented by an animal or hybrid figure. We'll be looking at the specific features of these non-anthropomorphic representations of the god, and what they tell us about the god they present.
Knowledge of ancient Egyptian essential.
