Tino Sehgal studied political economy in Berlin and dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany. His work has been shown in numerous solo exhibitions around the world, including the highly acclaimed Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York (2010) and Turbine Hall, Tate Modern, London (2012). In 2016, his work could be seen in Marrakech, on the Place Jemaa el-Fna, at the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen in Dresden, and as part of the ImPulsTanz festival in Vienna. He was awarded the Golden Lion for Best Artist in 2013. Tino Sehgal has exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2003 and 2005, and at Documenta Kassel in 2012.
