Abstract
Electron transfer-mediated functionalizations present new avenues for the construction of carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds from readily available and abundant feedstocks. We have been developing new photocatalytic systems as versatile synthetic tools that enable efficient conversion of aryl halides, carboxylic acids, and other precursors to functionalized products, leveraging single electron transfer (SET) and proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET). The seminar will highlight the progress in the development of new SET- and PCET-based catalytic approaches to challenging synthetic targets and their potential applications in organic synthesis.
