Robin Hopkins attended Brown University where she earned bachelor degree with honors in Biology. She received her PhD from Duke University in the laboratory of Dr. Mark Rausher where she studied the genetics, ecology, and evolution of speciation in plants. Dr. Hopkins was awarded a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Biology to work with Dr. Mark Kirkpatrick at the University of Texas at Austin.
In 2014, Dr. Hopkins started her lab at The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology.
