Panel 4 : Towards a standardization of European foreign policies ?

This panel looks at how diplomacy is articulated at both EU and bilateral levels. It examines the impact of the EU's supranational structures on the national trajectories of different European countries, and vice versa. Its aim is to contribute to the debate on the standardization of European foreign policy.

Sinem Akgül Açıkmeşe

Sinem Akgül Açıkmeşe is Professor of International Relations and Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Kadir Has University (KHAS). Since 2021, she has also been a Full Researcher at the Centre for Modern Turkish Studies at Carleton University (Canada), and currently serves as Secretary General and Board Member of the International Relations Council of Turkey (IRCT). Her research interests include security studies, transatlantic relations, EU foreign and neighborhood policies, European integration and Turkey-EU relations.

Muzna Shihabi

Muzna Shihabi is Head of Communications Development at the Arab Center for Research and Political Studies in Paris. A former advisor to the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Ramallah, she works at the intersection of media, advocacy and intellectual production. Her areas of expertise include political narratives in the context of conflict, exile and resistance, as well as issues of memory and representation linked to the Palestinian question.
